A new report claims Tom Cruise is trying to recruit his "Top Gun: Maverick" co-stars Glenn Powell and Miles Teller for Scientology. But, this story was corrected and was proved the actor isn't trying to groom his co-stars to join his religion.
Globe magazine claims that when the cameras aren't rolling, Cruise is allegedly trying to groom Powell and Teller hoping they would join Scientology. According to an alleged insider of the outlet, the actor has been barraging the young actors with his teachings about the religion. Both Powell and Teller reportedly like Cruise, and they are thrilled working with him, but he's allegedly too overbearing sometimes.
The untraceable source asserted the movie star always bring Scientology books on the set of their upcoming movie, sharing his insights and revelations, expecting them to be impressed with his teachings. Cruise allegedly hands out books and pamphlets to Powell and Teller, and it's considered rude if ever they don't take one.
The unknown insider further contends the young actors don't want to be ungrateful, but they feel that they are forced to sit with the movie star and listen to his teachings. Whenever on set, Cruise reportedly uses every opportunity to promote Scientology, saying it is great and what it can do for them.
The entire report isn't correct and accurate, according to Gossip Cop, as Cruise has already worked with different Hollywood celebrities, but he never recruited his co-stars for Scientology. Also, sources involved in the production of Top Gun: Maverick told Gossip Cop that he isn't trying to convince and recruit Powell and Teller join his religion.
It can also be noted that the Globe magazine reported a similar wrong storyline back in September, claiming Cruise was trying to convince Barbra Streisand for Scientology. Meanwhile, OK! Magazine - the sister outlet of the tabloid - also reported in 2016 the actor is recruiting Margot Robbie to join his religion. The time has already shown, Streisand and Robbie didn't join Scientology.
Meanwhile, another sister outlet of Globe, Star magazine, reported in January 2018 that Cruise is quitting Scientology for his daughter Suri Cruise, yet until now, the actor is still part of the religion. These outlets have zero insight regarding the actor's involvement in his religion.
Although there's so much mystery surrounding Cruise's involvement in Scientology, no reputable celebrity outlets reported he's recruiting Hollywood stars to join his religion. Therefore, the latest claim involving Powell and Teller is a work of fiction as well.
