A new report claims Lady Gaga was in tears because she didn't win the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama. However, this story has been debunked and the singer didn't actually go home empty-handed on Sunday night.
A lot of people reportedly expected Gaga would take home the Best Actress award for her in "A Star Is Born" at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, but Glenn Close earned the trophy for her role in "The Wife." Now, RadarOnline claims the singer did not take the loss so well and she's allegedly "in tears" now.
A so-called source of the tabloid asserted Gaga could hardly contain her tears as she believed the Best Actress award was meant for her. The unnamed tipster alleged the singer wasn't happy at all and she had to take a breather after to compose herself because she couldn't believe she would lose to Close.
However, it's suspicious that the outlet didn't mention when and where Gaga allegedly had a teary breakdown. It can be noted that there are many celebrity media outlets backstage during the Golden Globes, but not a single reliable publication reported the singer was literally in tears after losing the Best Actress award.
According to Gossip Cop, the claim of the outlet only comes from a non-existent source. In fact, a spokesperson of Gaga confirmed the tabloid's report is completely made-up. The rep assures that the singer didn't have any breakdown or in tears after losing the award.
It's worth mentioning that Gaga got an award on Sunday night, she won the award for Best Original Song for "Shallow." In addition, it's unlikely that she isn't happy Close nabbed the Best Actress award as she actually gave a shoutout to her on Twitter, saying Glenn Close is a "true legend" and she "deserves every award." The singer also said she's "beyond grateful" and "honored" for winning an award at the Golden Globes.
Moreover, Gaga seemed to be in very good spirits after the event. Her fiancé, Christian Carino, posted an Instagram photo of the singer getting cozy in bed and celebrating her win. And as for RadarOnline, the tabloid already has a record of making false narratives related to Gaga's awards show circuit. For instance, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for wrongly reporting Madonna was "livid" the singer's movie A Star Is Born is getting Oscar buzz. Yet, this claim was proved to be fabricated as well.
