Ozark has been renewed for a third season at Netflix, and lead actor, director, and executive producer Jason Bateman also confirmed the news via Twitter in October there will be Ozark season 3.

Bateman, who played the role of Marty Byrde, shared a photo of the number three in the iconic Ozark-style font. The 50-year-old actor captioned the picture: "I'm happy for me, but concerned for Marty - it's official OZARK 3 is on its way."

The news comes a month following the premiere of season two on Netflix. Ozark season 3 will likely have 10 episodes as well. Currently, there's no confirmed date when will the third season be aired, but the first and second season came out in July and August respectively. And according to Express, Ozark season 3 could be slated for a late summer or early autumn release in 2019.

Some scenes of the series were located at the real-life Lake Ozark in Missouri, while others took place at the Lake Allatoona and Lake Lanier in Georgia. For the cast, the core character members will, of course, be returning. Bateman's on-screen wife Wendy will be played by Laura Linney once again. Their children Charlotte and Jonah (played by Sofia Hublitz and Skylar Gaertner) were also expected to be back on the series.

Julia Garner will also reprise her role as Ruth Langmore alongside Jordan Spiro. Other cast members that will be returning on season three include and Charlie Tahan as Wyatt Langmore, and Lisa Emery as Darlene Snell. A new antagonist is expected to enter the series as well.

Meanwhile, the trailer for Ozark season 3 has not yet been released, but it will reportedly come out later this year. The season 2 finale (contains spoilers) opens up new possibilities for depravity as the Byrde family fell deeper into a life of crime.

Marty launched a giant casino coat, which will be used to launder hundreds of millions of dollars for the Mexican drug cartel. So, the third season will likely take place on that boat. This will possibly the main focus of season three as well since the Byrdes gets their biggest operation yet up and running.

Moreover, Cade Langmore's murder plot has yet to be solved, with possible suspects including his nephew Wyatt, his daughter Ruth, as well as Marty. Ruth will also have a more significant role in Byrde Enterprises as she was appointed as the new manager of the casino boat. A lot of questions from season two need to be answered on season three.
