Former EXO members Kris Wu and Tao have finally patched things up and rekindled their friendship. The two were not in good terms for years after Tao criticized Kris for leaving EXO.
It seems like Kris (Wu YiFan), and Tao (Huang Zi Tao) have finally decided to leave the past behind as they were seen hugging each other during the Dragon Tv's New Year Eve Concert, Allkpop reported. A fan video also showed the two were smiling at each other. Also, the former EXO members have started following each other on social media, such as Weibo and Instagram, which indicates the feud between the is officially over.
After Kris left the boy band in 2014, Tao expressed his angry reaction to Kris for leaving EXO, highlighting words like "ambitions" and "betrayal" via his Weibo and Instagram posts. During those times, he said that he felt hurt Kris suddenly left the group without saying something, especially he considered him like a real brother.
The following year, Tao expressed his regret for saying such words to Kris as he left the boy band as well. But, the relationship of the former EXO members had been ruined since then. In his interview with the Chinese media outlet Sina in Los Angeles, Tao revealed he and Kris weren't in talking term as the latter was not yet ready to forgive him due to the hurtful words he said.
In May 2014, Kris left EXO while the group was in the middle of promoting song "Overdose." He was also the leader of EXO-M (EXO's Mandarin language subgroup) before leaving the boy band. Tao, on the other hand, often talked with another former EXO member Luhan, and he's concerned Kris might not be able to forgive him. Bu now, the two likely left the past and rekindled their friendship.
Meanwhile, after leaving EXO, Kris has started his singing as well as his acting career in China. Just recently, Kris became the latest ambassador Louis Vuitton. His profile has risen as a rapper since going solo, and even as an actor, with roles in movies such as "xXx: Return of Xander Cage" and "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets." He also launched a fashion brand with an affiliate of smartphone-maker Xiaomi. Kris has also been considered as one of the biggest stars in China, with over 44 million followers on Weibo.
