It's roller coasters, hotdogs and family fun time that normally come to mind when people think of Disneyland. But the Anaheim theme park has something new to offer, which may change how some visitors can have more fun at in the happiest place on Earth.
The first-ever brewery at Disneyland, Ballast Point Brewing, has finally opened its doors last Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Downtown Disney. Originally announced in 2018, it's the only site in the theme park where visitors can enjoy a pint of beer from over 100 different kinds of beer tap.
Ballast Point Brewing has over 7,000 sq. ft. of space. The restaurant and bar, which also boasts of flavorful food choices, is glass-enclosed and can fit some 220 patrons, according to People. But the place also has a spacious beer garden and cabana-style seating areas outside. The restaurant may also host private parties because part of the restaurant can be turned into function rooms.
According to Fox News, people have begun sharing photos of their food and beer on Instagram and other social media sites since Ballast Point Brewing officially opened. Thus, more people have been enticed to check out the new happening spot.
But even if the place serves alcohol, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney VP Patrick Finnegan said in the press release that this brewery is still a family-friendly place. The new hangout still imbibes the Disney tradition of fun for the whole family despite its hip and cool atmosphere.
Disney has been planning to open a brewery in the Anaheim theme park for years. Since changing and renovating the Downtown Disney area, which is found just a few blocks off the Disneyland Hotel, the company has brought in different restaurants to provide variety for its millions of visitors.
The company chose Ballast Point Brewery to be the first beer shop at Disneyland because it's one of the best brewers in California. Mainly based in San Diego, Ballast Point Brewery has eight different sites in California. It also has a restaurant in Illinois and Virginia.
Ballast Point Brewery has several signature drinks, which will also be offered at the Disney site. Tourists from all over the world can finally have a taste of their bestsellers like California Amber, Sculpin IPA, Grunion Pale Ale and the Blackberry Sour Wench.
The food items at Ballast Point Brewery, on the other hand, mostly come with beer batters or sauces to complement the drinks. As much as the beer flavors are bold, the food flavors are also interesting. The restaurant even serves a selection of vegan or vegetarian dishes that are must-tries.
