"NCIS" season 16 is going to bring back former special Agent Ziva David (played by Cote De Pablo), or at least bring back a memory of her work in the agency. The upcoming episode, titled "She," will reopen a case that Agent David was personally invested during her active years. However, fans of the show might not see De Pablo back in the series.

According to the episode synopsis, the case is about a missing girl who disappeared over 10 years ago. Agent David kept notes about the child, who was said to be the daughter of a Navy recruit.

Agent Ellie Bishop (played by Emily Wickersham) will find Agent David's notes while looking for leads into another missing person's case on "NCIS" season 16 episode 13. Her team will be called to help after someone found a 9-year-old girl in a storage unit looking very much dazed, confused and malnourished.

Agent Bishop thinks her case might have ties to David's. She believes that the girl found is also a Navy recruit's daughter, so she's going to reopen this cold case in the hopes of solving the current one.

But fans hoping to see De Pablo in this episode might be disappointed. The actress hasn't been on the show since her character died on "NCIS" season 11 and she hasn't filmed any recent guest stint on the series.

At best, De Pablo's "reappearance" on "NCIS" season 16 episode 13 might just feature old clips of her from the show. There could be a short flashback showing Agent David following up the case.

There's no specific reason for "NCIS" to have De Pablo back in the series. But the upcoming episode, which will air on Tuesday, Feb. 5, on CBS, will still be good for the show regarding tying an old story that had loose ends.

Meanwhile, rumors are rife that another "NCIS" star might be leaving. Fans are worried Sean Murray, who plays Agent Timothy McGee, might be ready to say goodbye based on what happened in a recent episode.

In "NCIS" season 16 episode 11, Agent McGee received a package that contained a gift from a company that's interested in having him on board. The job is supposed to be worth millions that it would be a mistake for McGee to turn it down.

However, according to Monsters and Critics, Murray will remain on the show for the rest of the season. CBS has not given any hints that the actor would bow out of the series.
