Fortnite new patch v7.20 content update has been launched on Tuesday, January 22 at 5 AM PT / 8 AM ET / 1 PM GMT. The latest update includes "small tweaks to shield availability, a reduction of mobility like item and vehicle spawn chance, and a few more vaults including Quad Launcher. The additions in the new patch have been confirmed by Eric Williamson via Twitter.
In a previous report, the Glider Redeploy will be available in the new patch as an item. Apart from that, one addition that has been confirmed is the new Sneaky Snowman item. This item will be seen in the pre-lobby news section of the game along with the caption "Become a master of disguise."
The Snowman item has a maximum stack size of 10, and it can be found in floor loot, chests and supply lamas. Epic Games also added Sniper Shootout mode, which limits Fortnite's arsenal to scoped weapons only. Along the mode, added items are suppressed sniper rifles and legendary scoped pistols, which have been added to supply drops.
Fortnite's 7.20 content update also added vaulted quad rocket launchers, troublesome Port-A-Fortress deployables, and the grappler. In the new update, the chances for glider and balloon drops have been reduced.
During the launch date of the Fortnite's new patch v7.20, many layers have noticed that the loot pool has become a bit diluted, thus making difficult for the important shields to show up during the game. Due to the series of complaints regarding the new patch, Fortnite developer Epic Games responded to the complaints of its fans. The developer said it will be making some adjustments on shields.
Fortnite developer acknowledged the common complaints of the Fortnite Ice Storm challenges, which is the spawn rates of the Ice Legion, especially Golden Ice Brutes. Due to the series of complaints, Epic Games made some changes and announced what are the adjustments have been made.
Fortnite official Reddit account announced the changes and adjustments. It includes: Spawn Rate Adjustments, Increased the spawn rate of all Ice Legion in the early game, spawn rate gradually decreases as the game progresses, Increased Circle 1 Ice Legion spawns by 100%, Increased Circle 2 Ice Legion spawns by 20%, Reduced the spawn rate of all Ice Legion towards the end game, Decreased Circle 3 Ice Legion spawns by 80%, Decreased Circle 4 Ice Legion spawns by 80%, Decreased Circle 5 Ice Legion spawns by 80%, Increased the spawn rate of Golden Brutes by 100%, and This will compound on top of the spawn rate changes mentioned above.
