More details are emerging about the planned "Breaking Bad" movie. Unconfirmed reports indicate that most of the stars whose characters have died on the TV show are going to be in the film.
According to a Revenge of the Fans exclusive report, every familiar face that was killed off in the "Breaking Bad" TV series will appear in the movie version. Allegedly on the top of the cast list is Bryan Cranston, who made the cancer-stricken chemist teacher and meth cooker Walter White an iconic TV character.
Fans of the show will remember that Cranston's character died in the final moments of the series. Walter succumb to his gunshot wounds after trying to evade the authorities from arresting him for his crimes.
The first question most people had when reports of the movie first came to light was how Cranston could be part of this production if his character died. The actor, however, did not shoot down suggestions he could still be in it. In fact, during an interview with Entertainment Weekly Radio, Cranston said that he would do the film "in a second," if asked.
Also on the reported unofficial cast list for the "Breaking Bad" movie are Jonathan Banks (Mike), Krysten Ritter (Jane), Jesse Plemons (Todd), Matt Jones (Badger), Charles Baker (Skinny Pete), Tess Harper (Mrs. Pinkman), Robert Forster (Ed) and Kevin Rankin (Kenny). Curiously not on the list are Walter White's wife Skyler (played by Anna Gunn), son Walter White Jr. (RJ Mitte) and sister-in-law Marie (Betsy Brandt).
As it was in the TV show, "Breaking Bad" creator Vince Gilligan will write and produce the film. It's also possible he'll direct the two-hour movie that will reportedly start production in New Mexico at the end of January and continue until the whole month of February.
According to the Albuquerque Journal, there have been some activities going on quietly behind the scene that ties to the "Breaking Bad" production in New Mexico. Sources say that the project has a secret codename, Greenbrier, and it will about a kidnapped man's quest to gain freedom.
Fans think that this man is Aaron Paul's character, Jesse Pinkman. In the final scenes of "Breaking Bad," Pinkman was able to evade the authorities and flee the scene where Walter White died.
AMC aired "Breaking Bad" for five seasons, from 2008 to 2013. The award-winning TV show has been widely considered as one of the best series of all time, along with "The Sopranos."
Meanwhile, the studios have not made it clear if the "Breaking Bad" movie will get a theater run. The movie might be a special original feature on the AMC cable network instead of being released on the big screen.
