Angelina Jolie is set to star in another serious movie. After wrapping up work in the Disney sequel "Maleficent 2" last summer, the actress is going to be on the set of "Those Who Wished Me Dead" this May.

The drama is from "Sicario" writer Taylor Sheridan. He's also going to direct the movie that is actually an adaptation of a Michael Koryta novel.

According to Deadline, "Those Who Wish Me Dead" has been described as a "hard-boiled chase thriller." The story's backdrop will be set in Montana and it will follow a teenage boy who has witnessed a murder.

However, this boy's life will be threatened by a pair of assassins hired to silence him. A survival expert, on the other hand, will become his protector. Jolie will likely play the character, who has been detailed in the books as a long-time dweller of a lookout tower.

But according to Collider, Jolie could also play one of the couples holed up at a wildness survival program in Montana. Unless Sheridan might consider the actress as best fitted for the role of one of the assassins if it were gender-swapped.

"Those Who Wish Me Dead" has no release schedule for now. Casting for her 14-year-old co-star is still underway.

Jolie hasn't starred in a serious film for quite some time.  Her last heavy drama was actually with her ex-husband, "By the Sea," which ran in theatres in 2015.

Meanwhile, Jolie has recently made headlines again when photos of her meeting with ex-husband Brad Pitt were splashed in the dailies. According to Us Weekly the two recently met in an office in Los Angeles to discuss their children.

Sources told the outlet that Jolie and Pitt have been meeting in person for a while now to work out their arrangement with their kids after the divorce. The meeting last Jan. 30 was, in fact, not the first time.

Jolie divorced Pitt in September 2016. They were together for 12 years but were officially married two years prior to the divorce. According to court documents, Jolie claimed Pitt has not been paying child support since their marriage fell apart. The actor, however, contested that he loaned millions to Jolie so she could buy a new house for her and their six children.

The ex-couple are currently observing a temporary custody agreement. Sources said that Pitt is willing to co-parent with his former wife. Child experts also evaluated that the children would benefit from joint physical custody.
