Bo Peep returns in Toy Story 4 with a new look and image, she will reunite with Woody as well as the rest of Andy's formers toys. The character, who was last seen in Toy Story 2, has gone through some changes and evolution - she turned into a "badass." Bo Peep is more different now and capable of doing things than before. However, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) wants to make major changes in her character, asking Disney/Pixar to remove her crook in the upcoming movie.

Recently, the new look of Bo Peep from Toy Story 4 was released, but PETA reached out to Pixar, as well as director Josh Cooley, asking them to remove the crook entirely from the movie. Crook is a tall, sheep-herding staff that Bo Peep always carries, the Comicbook reported.

PETA said crook symbolizes violence against sheep since it was historically used to hook lambs' neck and legs in the wool industry. Furthermore, the organization said it was similar to a bullhook used for cattle, which has been widely banned now.

According to Lauren Thomasson, PETA Manager of Animals in Film and Television, the "badass" Bo Peep likely bop the shearers, not the sheep. It is a symbol of domination over any animals from the past, and it shouldn't belong in Toy Story 4.

Thomasson asked to consider removing Bo Peep's crook in the final movie. She also suggested the modern look of the character should have a moral set of modern values, so she should ditch the crook to send a better message to viewers. She asked why Bo Peep hasn't lost the "cruel crook" now that she was designed to have a new and modern image. She added the crook was particularly used to gentle sheep to move.

"That isn't something that a progressive Bo Peep would countenance in 2019!" Thomasson said.

Bo Peep will reunite with Woody and other toys in Toy Story 4 after being gone for years. Because she was made of porcelain, not plastic, she has become chipped and faded over time. She spent most of her time in the road which changed and shaped her character - she's now described as an "adventure-seeking free spirit." Both Bo Peep and Woody realized they've grown apart after not seeing each other for a long time.

Toy Story 4 will hit the big screen on June 21, 2019.
