"Maleficent 2" won't come out in theaters until May 2020. But Michelle Pfeiffer has given fans the first look to her character, Queen Ingrith.

In a post on Instagram, Pfeiffer shared a photo of herself wearing the queen's beaded headdress. However, she didn't reveal her complete face and only gave her followers a peek of her hair and makeup.

Pfeiffer's character is a new addition to the "Maleficent" franchise. Little is known about Queen Ingrith, except that she's the wife of King John (Robert Lindsay) and the mother of Prince Phillip (Harris Dickinson).

The official synopsis of "Maleficent 2" states that Angelina Jolie's dark fairy and her ward, Elle Fanning's Princess Aurora, will have to form new alliances as the latter trains to be a queen herself. Perhaps Queen Ingrith will be one of these new alliances and adviser since it was her son, the prince, who broke the curse that put Aurora to sleep in the first movie.

But "Maleficent 2" will not be complete if there are no villains. Variety reported that "Deadpool" actor Ed Skrein will fill in those shoes but the kind of evil role he'll play still remains a secret. "Doctor Strange" actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, on the other hand, is also in the cast. Just the same, however, Disney has not revealed the details to his role.

Filming for "Maleficent 2" took three months over the summer last year in London. "Pirates of the Caribbean" director Joachim Ronning helmed the scenes from a script written by Linda Woolverton and Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster. Woolverton also wrote the scripts to most of the princess live-action films in the Disney slate.

"Maleficent 2" will pick up several years after the events of the 2014 movie. Aside from Jolie and Fanning, also expected to be in the sequel are the other pixie fairies, Imelda Staunton (Knotgrass), Juno Temple (Thistlewit) and Lesley Manville (Flittle).

Meanwhile, Pfeiffer is best known for her role as Catwoman in the early "Batman" movies with Michael Keaton. She recently celebrated her 60th birthday by opening a new account on Instagram. She revealed in a 2017 interview with AARP that the reason she disappeared from the movies for a few years was that she got picky with her roles. But now, the actress said that she can't imagine retiring from the business completely.

Pfeiffer also has a brief appearance in 2018's "Ant-Man & Wasp." She will also be in the upcoming MCU film, "Avengers: Endgame."
