FX's anthology series "Fargo" season 4 might move location once filming starts during the winter. The crime drama series, which will star Chris Rock as a crime syndicate leader, will likely shift places since it's supposed to move down south to Kansas City.

For the last three seasons, the city of Calgary doubled as the Minnesota and North Dakota set backdrops for "Fargo." But a spokesperson from FX told the Canadian Press that it's too early to tell where the fourth season will film.

But during the recent meet with the Television Critics Association, CEO John Landgraf confirmed that "Fargo" season 4 will start production this coming winter. Fans who follow the show, as well as the movie it was based from, know that the weather and temperature are crucial to the look and feel of the series since all the stories on "Fargo" happen in the colder season.

In an interview with Slashfilm in 2018, Landgraf said that it still snows in Kansas City, so the weather will still be part of the story. FX has not yet announced the premiere date but Landgraf told the press that the production time frame should give fans an idea of the season's release window. So, if "Fargo" season 4 films from November 2019 to February 2020, the show could premiere on the cable channel by fall next year as well.

Landgraf also said that he has read the first script of the series. He revealed that it's fantastic and that he loved what show creator Noah Hawley has done. The FX boss also shared that "Fargo" season 3 touched on a book called "Tales of True Crime in the Upper Midwest," which dealt with organized crime and the fourth season might feature stories related to that book.

Meanwhile, other casting announcements for "Fargo" season 4 have not yet been revealed apart from Rock. The show will be looking to add an actor who will play his son, as well as the Italian mafia boss who becomes Rock's character's enemy,

"Fargo" season 4 will be set in the 1950s. It will tell the story of the conflict between the African Americans and the Italian Americans, who are all trying to fulfill the American Dream.

Hawley apparently wanted to work with Rock and reached out to him to do his TV show. Since the comedian is a fan of the series, he did not think twice about signing aboard.
