Elisabeth Moss, who's a member of Scientology, is recruiting Taylor Swift to join the religion, according to the claim of a recent report this week. But, this story has been debunked, and there's no truth about the claim.
Moss shared in a red carpet interview during the Emmy Awards in September that she and The Handmaid's Tale co-stars were singing songs of Swift whenever they want to let loose on set while shooting an intense drama. Her remarks got back to the singer, and she recorded a message for the actress which was broadcasted at the E!'s Live From the Red Carpet during the Golden Globes last month.
Swift thanked Moss for the shout out and also said she's a huge fan of the Hulu series. The singer also added she would love to meet her someday. Then, the actress responded saying she can't believe Swift knows who she was and that she's happy to come over and hang out anytime.
Now, RadarOnline made a story about this involving Moss's affiliation with Scientology. The outlet cited an alleged insider who said the church leaders are asking the actress to "capitalize" the connection she made with Swift.
The unidentifiable source insisted Moss' job is to gain the trust of Swift and she will allegedly sell her on the benefits of Scientology. Due to their recent interaction, the actress already scored a win by having singer Taylor buddy up to a Scientologist. The unnamed source further asserted the church loves that kind of positive press
However, both Swift and Moss haven't met each other in person, so the claim of the tabloid is suspicious. A source close to the actress confirmed to Gossip Cop that the claim of the outlet is complete nonsense and purely fabricated. Moss isn't on a mission to recruit Swift for Scientology just because she's a fan of The Handmaid's Tale and she recorded a video message for her.
This isn't also the first time a false narrative was published involving Moss and her affiliation with Scientology. For instance, the sister publication of RadarOnline, National Enquirer, previous claimed Tom Cruise - who's also a member of the controversial religion - is pursuing a romance with the actress as he wants to date another famous Scientologist.
Then, another sister outlet of the tabloid, Star magazine, wrongly reported the actress was feuding with Nicole Kidman on the set of Top Of The Lake as she allegedly believed Kidman destroyed Cruise's reputation following their divorce. These claims have been debunked, and the recent report she's recruiting Swift for Scientology is not true at all.
