The 61st Annual Grammy Awards is just a couple of days away, and fans are now excited with the reported appearance of BTS. The South Korean boyband is said to be gracing the prestigious music event for the first time to hand an award to an unrevealed category's winner.
Variety broke the news about BTS's appearance on the Grammy Awards. A source reportedly revealed Suga, J-Hope, Rap Monster, Jin, Jimin, V and Jungkook would present an award during the live show.
However, fans would never see BTS perform on stage. The publication also didn't reveal the award details.
Aside from giving an award, BTS's album, "Love Yourself: Tear," is also nominated for the best recording package category for HuskyFox's Doohee Lee's artwork. It will be against four other LPs like Mitski's "Be the Cowboy," St Vincent's "Masseducation," The Chairman's "The Offering," and Foxhole's "Well Kept Thing."
The Straits Times reported BTS finds their global success because of their music that has a blend of hip-hop with rock and pop elements. They debuted in 2013, and they are now conquering the music scene all over the globe. They also became the first K-pop album that reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard's 200 album chart with "Love Yourself: Tear" in 2018.
Meanwhile, the upcoming Grammy Awards will be hosted by the American singer, Alicia Keys. The songwriter replaced James Corden, who has been the event's host for the past two years.
The rap superstar Kendrick Lamar leads the Grammys with eight nominations. Other stars who have the most nods are Post Malone, Lady Gaga, and Cardi B. For the complete list of nominees, click here.
