Many fans are now thrilled for the upcoming premiere of Steven Universe Season 6 despite the fact that there is no official announcement about the series' renewal up to this writing. Due to the lack of details, some fans started to create their theories and predictions on what to expect in the yet-to-be-confirmed installment.
EconoTimes shared that, while the fifth season ended like it was the very last episode of the American animated television series, there is still a possibility of having Steven Universe Season 6 in the near future. However, the reputable media outfit noted that fans need to keep their hopes low until Cartoon Network release an official announcement about the highly-anticipated sixth installment.
Should everything be finalized, Steven Universe Season 6 is expected to bring back the series regulars that include Steven (Zach Callison), Pearl (Deedee Magno), Garnet (Estelle), and Amethyst (Michaela Dietz). It may also feature other characters such as Greg Universe (Tom Scharpling), Connie (Grace Rolek), Peridot (Shelby Rabara), Sadie (Kate Micucci), Rose Quartz (Susan Egan), Jasper (Kimberly Brooks), Lapis Lazuli (Jennifer Paz), and Lars (Matthew Moy) among others.
Reports about the possibility of having another installment sparked when Cartoon Network revealed to a fan that "there's more to come" after the fifth season. However, these speculations about Steven Universe Season 6 should be taken with a grain of salt until everything is confirmed already.
Meanwhile, one of the primary reasons why Steven Universe Season 6 is not happening anytime soon is because the network will produce a movie version of the series. Expected to debut in Fall 2019, the said film - Steven Universe: The Movie - will still be about the adventures of Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Steven, who does not know how to use the magical powers that come out of his bellybutton. A yet-to-be-revealed reddish-pink Homeworld Gem could be the main antagonist in the up-and-coming film.
It is, previously, shared that ex-Crewniverse member Ian Jones-Quartey will work on the plotline of the movie. However, it remains to be seen if he will also return to help complete the Steven Universe Season 6 story. The official trailer also showed Gems donning their pre-generation outfits. The imminent new film, which was first announced at the San Diego Comic-Con 2018, will air on Cartoon Network.
