It was already announced that all of their iPhone and iPad users would have to update their operating system to Apple iOS 12.1.4 to fix some bugs and other issues of their phones. While this may look like a long-overdue solution to the woes of Apple users, the operating system update might actually bring more problems.

The Apple iOS 12.1.4 was promised by the company as the solution for the security problems of iPhone and iPad users. Elite Daily reported in an article that the operating system update will fix the bug that causes potential privacy violation in FaceTime.

In an article published by Forbes, however, the Apple iOS 12.1.4 is actually hiding some "nasty surprises" that iPhone and iPad users will experience. Gordon Kelly, senior contributor to Forbes, said one of the "nasty surprises" is experiencing serious WiFi and cellular data woes from the previous operating system releases.

One Twitter user complained that the cellular data was "virtually non-existent" after updating to Apple iOS 12.1.4. He also said the speed on the internet was only around .06 to .10.

Another Twitter user said that he went to AT&T to troubleshoot the problem after updating to Apple iOS 12.1.4. He already did everything like restarting the device, taking out the SIM, resetting network settings, deleting and re-installing the update but the problem is still there.

A Twitter user even made a bold statement by saying the Apple iOS 12.1.4 update is an "utter failure". The user said he experienced losing primary SIM connectivity.

Kelly lamented the fact that those who already updated their operating system to Apple iOS 12.1.4 has no options available on how to fix the problems so far. Apple, Kelly said, imposed a deadline for the release and updating of the software without even offering a quick solution to some bugs of the operating system.

There were also reported isolated incidents of breaking voice memos, photo thumbnails, performance issues with AirPods playback and Touch ID. Kelly said the Apple iOS 12.1.4 shows the "hallmark" of a rushed iOS release.

Despite these issues, Kelly said that iPhone and iPad users should upgrade their phones to Apple iOS 12.1.4. The update still has some crucial fixes to the privacy bugs of Group FaceTime and Live Photos.

Kelly also said that it is already inevitable that a new release like Apple iOS 12.1.4 will have new bugs. He gave the update a pass but said that experiencing device-stopping big bugs is inexcusable.
