Tray (played by Tracy Morgan) has always dreamed of becoming a chef all his life. He is finally making it happen when The Last OG returns to TBS for its second season.
According to Deadline, The Last OG season 2 will premiere on Tuesday, April 2, at 10:30 p.m. on TBS. The first episode back will show Tray realizing his dream of becoming a chef as he opens a food truck in the neighborhood where he grew up.
Losing his job in The Last OG season 1 pushed Tray to get out of his comfort zone to try to turn his life around. Fortunately, he has the support of his ex-girlfriend, Shay (played by Tiffany Haddish) for this venture but she's also charting her own dreams as she also sets up a new business in the second season.
The Last OG season 2 will bring back series regulars like Ryan Gaul (Josh), Allen Maldonado (Bobby), Taylor Mosby (Shahzad) and Dante Hoagland (Amira). The show, however, will feature a bevy of new guest stars like Method Man, Talib Kweli, Rev Run, Dan Hedaya, Anna Mari Horsford, Brian Sacca, Diarra Kilpatrick, Joshua Rivera and Jack McBrayer.
TBS renewed The Last OG season 2 last April, while it was barely a few weeks into its debut run on television. TBS Brett Weitz expressed confidence that the comedy series would be a crowd favorite and he was right since the series picked up an 83 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, as per The Wrap.
The Last OG is Morgan's comeback series after being saddled for four years due to a car accident. In 2014, Morgan's limo was rear-ended by a Wal-Mart truck in New York, leaving the actor with several broken bones. He also suffered a two-week coma.
Morgan also had to go through a series of therapy in order to regain use of his hands and legs back as a result of the accident. The driver of the truck, on the other hand, plead guilty to aggravated assault and vehicular homicide. He confessed that he fell asleep on the wheel as he rammed the truck on the comedian's car.
Fans and colleagues feared the worst for Morgan following the accident. But he was prepared to bounce back after The Last OG launched to positive reviews. Critics said the series highlighted Morgan's good-natured spirit and gregarious comedic performance thus TBS was prompted to give the show another run.
