Blue Bloods is a police procedural drama that follows the story of the Reagan family, multi-generational cop family fighting crime in New York City. The series is one of the most popular shows in CBS, and since the current season is nearing its finale, fans are eager to know if there will be Blue Bloods season 10.

Blue Bloods hits the small screen back in 2010, and it's now on its ninth season. The series is still going strong, but there's no news from CBS if it will be renewed for the 10th installment. But based on the plot of the current season, it's very likely there will be Blue Bloods season 10.

If ever it will indeed be renewed, the series might be released in late September 2019 - based on the air dates of the first nine seasons. So, many believe Blue Bloods season 10 will air around that month if ever confirmed. As for the episodes of the upcoming season, the EconoTimes reported it might also have 22 episodes as well since the preceding seasons all have the same number of episodes.

As for the plot of Blue Bloods season 10, the current stand of season nine suggests for another installment. The series has many gaps and holes, so it's impossible to leave the show just like that. Additionally, leaving the main characters' lives in the air isn't a smart move for the producers.

Blue Blood was loved by many, but the police procedural drama isn't doing well as it was at the beginning. The Nielsen ratings of season nine reportedly dropped overall viewership by about five percent from season eight. But still, the series has been one of the most popular shows in CBS which landed in the fourth spot behind Criminal Minds, Salvation, and NCIS, as per Ranker.

The dynamic relationship of the Reagan family is what makes the series more interesting for viewers. There's still a concern regarding contract signing as no Blue Bloods actors have renewed their respective contracts.

But, Tom Selleck (Frank Reagan) has an explanation for this. He said that the majority of cast members sign contracts for six or seven years upon joining a show, and then they usually negotiate on an annual or semi-annual basis after that.

He added that everything's depends on each actor's desire to continue the show, studio demand, monetary value of the contract, as well as other factors. So basically, the negotiation should be met by the casts and CBS before pushing the Blue Bloods season 10.
