Fans may only have three seasons before they finally say goodbye to the Pearson family. There are reports This Is Us Season 6 will serve as the show's finale, and one of its lead stars Milo Ventimiglia thinks it will probably be the case.
In an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Milo Ventimiglia talked about the possibility of This Is Us Season 6 finale. "We never know where we're going to go. We never know what's going to happen," he said as quoted by Entertainment Tonight.
Milo Ventimiglia continued to say This Is Us Season 6 may feature a "huge spike," and fans are still clamoring for more beyond it. The fan-favorite television dad thinks people behind the show already have an idea about how they like to end the story nicely.
But, Milo Ventimiglia even teased that "there is always a chance for more" This Is Us installments, depending on the demand. Anyhow, he couldn't deny that the show's creators already have a "satisfying ending" in mind. He even said that it is a good thing that both the audience and fans have the idea of how long the series will run.
NBC has yet to confirm if This Is Us Season 6 will be the show's final installment. The news emerged after creator Dan Fogelman, and showrunner Isaac Aptaker told Deadline that their team is planning about "three seasons in the future."
"I would hope that it's elegant. That's what we're going for," Aptaker said. He also hopes that when the show comes to an end, people will find it "satisfying." "That makes sense, and it feels like they've watched something that is a complete piece of work because that's really how we're trying to plan it," he added.
Wherever the show will go, it is already revealed Milo Ventimiglia's role as Jack is dead. Jack has been gone since the show started, but his demise was only revealed in This Is Us Season 2 after he suffered from a devastating heart attack. The current season explores Jack's story in his stay in Vietnam and the complicated relationship he had with his younger brother, Nick (Griffin Dunne).
Fans can continuously watch Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore (Rebecca), Justin Hartley (Kevin), and the rest of the gang in This Is Us Season 3 every Tuesday on NBC. Viewers still have to wait for the network's announcement if the show will indeed end in This Is Us Season 6.
