Robert Downey Jr. is believed to refuse Reese Witherspoon’s request of joining her next project, again and again. According to an alleged insider, Witherspoon has been sending RDJ videos of herself begging to sign up with her on this. And although the two are great chums, the source claims that Robert Downey Jr. is not really interested. Moreover, the videos are a little too much for him.
As it happens, Witherspoon, along with her production company, Hello Sunshine, is under extreme pressure based on the recent claims. And having the Avenger’s star on set is going to be a real score for the project. Hence, many believe that this is the apparent reason why the famous Legally Blonde’s Elle Woods is pleading RDJ to join her.
This is how it went down in most tabloids that have been circulating this week. And the story is pretty problematic in the sense that the claims of an “insider” are quite vague and too general.
Primarily, the “insider” lacks specific information about the Hello Sunshine project. No one actually knows if it is a movie or a series. And being an “insider” could mean more information. Secondly, Witherspoon being too desperate due to pressure is pretty questionable. With the huge success of her Big Little Lies, which will be back this summer for its second season, one would think twice if the actress is really desperate. And not to mention - the recently signed project, 'Kin', with Starz that explicitly stated to Variety that this opportunity of working with Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine is “serendipitous.”
Also, the sun is shining really bright to Hello Sunshine as Laurene Powell Jobs, wife of the late Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs, invests in Witherspoon’s production company. According to Bloomberg, the terms are not disclosed. Nevertheless, the invested funds will definitely support Witherspoon’s and Hello Sunshine’s efforts in Hollywood.
Meanwhile, RDJ’s spokesperson told Gossip Cop that the stories and claims about his refusal are all untrue. In fact, they are even “ludicrous” as Witherspoon is not begging or pleading anything from Robert Downey Jr. In addition, Gossip Cop calls out the main tabloid that published the said story since it is “based on the unsubstantiated claims of an anonymous and seemingly made-up “source.””
So, this latest story about Reese Witherspoon and Robert Downey Jr. is a complete fabrication that only creates drama between the two famous and successful Hollywood actors.
