Grey's Anatomy season 15 episode 14 focuses on what appears to be a relevant issue today. The latest episode, titled "I Want A New Drug," tackles the opioid crisis.
Grey's Anatomy season 15 episode 14 aired this week, we saw that Ben Warren arrived at the ER to inform people that a bad batch of opioids went around at a park nearby, as reported by Vulture. The addicts were dropping all over the place, and most of them were teenagers. The latest episode tackled an opioid crisis, which is relevant nowadays as it happens in real life and it is a problem that needs to be addressed.
In Grey's Anatomy season 15 episode 14, Betty/ Britney is one of the teens found in the park. Link carried her in his arms and rushed her to the ER after hearing she took both meth and the bad pills. At the end of the episode, all doctors were shaken and helpless. It's possible that Betty might die, but Teddy and Webber work to save her life by any means necessary.
Meanwhile, Link is taking care of Betty's boyfriend, and all he wanted is to keep his girlfriend safe and make sure she isn't alone. After fixing him up a little bit, Link went to the hallway to take a breather from a very long, stressful day. Amelia was also doing the same, and they talked about how hard to be a doctor and seeing kids there killing themselves with drugs. They also talked about what their life will be if they weren't doctors.
Everything's seemed to be fine -- until blood spilled out from the door in front of them. There, they found out Betty's boyfriend shot himself, Link couldn't save him and sends Amelia into a tailspin of anger and fear. The good news is, Betty lives but her parents don't want to let her know about her boyfriend as they think it would kill her.
Another thing that happened in Grey's Anatomy season 15 episode was when Alex and Jo met a suburban mom named Wendy. She's freaking out as she lost her 3-year-old son, they were both at the park when the massive opioid overdose crisis happened. She thought her son might be at the hospital, she's worried, and her blood pressure was very high. Thankfully, a homeless man named Ralph arrived together with the little boy, and Alex and Jo found out that Wendy was buying drugs and passed out on a park bench.
