Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's divorce settlement is getting messier. Because of this, rumors suggest that the former couple has planned a secret getaway outside of Los Angeles to get things sorted in a relaxed atmosphere.

Sources told Radar Online that the couple wants a change of scenery to resolve the issues of their divorce. They won't be leaving town with their six children, but the ex-couple will also not be alone during this trip. Allegedly, Pitt and Jolie are bringing their team of lawyers with them to properly arrange the meetings with each other.

But Gossip Cop has debunked the rumors that Pitt and Jolie are going on a secret getaway to fix their divorce. The news outlet pointed out that it's going to be a pretty expensive trip if they have to have their lawyers around, who will likely bill the superstars not just for their time but for their hotel rooms as well.

Representatives of both camps also denied that Pitt and Jolie are going away together. Pitt and Jolie's representatives have alluded that the end to the divorce proceedings may finally be in sight as the two could reach a proper settlement soon.

As it is, Pitt and Jolie have a hard time being in the same room together even with their lawyers present. Last January, the ex-couple met at a lawyer's office in Los Angeles and were photographed having an intense discussion.

Sources told Us Weekly, however, that the January meeting wasn't the first time the ex-couple have seen each other in person. The two have reportedly been hashing out their divorce as an ongoing process especially since they have to discuss the future of their six kids.

On September 2016, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt after two years of marriage and 12 years of living together. Court documents revealed in 2018 that Pitt has not been paying Jolie child support since they decided to part ways, which the actor counter-charged in court. He has allegedly loaned Jolie millions to buy a new house for her and their kids.

The two have also discussed multiple custody agreements with regards to their children. At the moment, they have joint physical and legal custody of the children, based on the recommendation of an evaluator.

Meanwhile, amid the rumors that Pitt and Jolie are supposed to be going on a secret getaway, the Maleficent star recently stepped out in public with all of her six kids to watch The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. Jolie wanted to show support for her co-star and good friend, Chiwetel Ejiofor's directorial debut, according to W Magazine.
