Rockstar has released a new update for "Red Dead Online" that introduces a host of interesting new additions and changes to the game. Read on for more details.

Rockstar says that the update, which is now live in-game, comes as a response to the gaming community's requests and feedback, and is designed to make the game more enjoyable. However, it doesn't add additional story missions, side missions, new horses, or real endgame activities, Kotaku noted.

Here's a quick look at what RDO's first big update brings:

Map changes

Previously, players can be seen anywhere on the map as white dots, making it virtually impossible to know if a certain dot represents an aggressive or lawful player. Now, players will only become visible within 150 meters of another player. The radius becomes slightly wider if a player is firing a weapon, Polygon noted.

Moreover, aggressive players will now be seen on the map as a highlighted red dot. This makes it easy for others to avoid encounters with these guys.

Parley

Now. those who get killed repeatedly will find parleying easier to do. Players can parley others who kill them and will be respawned in a different location. Additionally, neither player (or the killer's posse) will not be able to hurt each other for 10 minutes.

Law and bounty

Aggressive players will now be hunted by AI bounty hunters. The more lawless and aggressive they become, the bigger the bounty placed on them. The bigger the bounty, the more bounty hunters to run away from. Yeehaw.

Daily Challenges

Those who find the frontier boring will enjoy completing daily challenges. These challenges, which include getting a new hairstyle and eating a number of fresh produce, will reward players with gold nuggets. Challenges are refreshed daily.

New Events and Game Modes

The update features new events. One of them, Fool's Good, is a new free roam event that puts players in a fight to wear a gold suit of armor. Winning over others to get the armor rewards players with the armor and points. Surviving while wearing the armor also gives out points.

New weapons and balances

Firearms like the Rare Shotgun and the Evans Repeater are added to the game, although the latter will be available at a later time.

The Varmint Rifle is now less accurate, while other power rifles like the Carcano now deal more damage. What's more, accuracy is lowered when dead-eye is activated.

Other interesting things

Emotes have been added to the game, allowing players to communicate without words. Clothes have also been, adding variety to the game.

For now, PlayStation 4 users will get added exclusive content such as a new knife and other clothing options. These items will also be available for Xbox One users at a future date.
