It looks like the Boston Celtics is looking for new players for the next season to improve their performance. Reports surfaced that the team is doing everything just so they can potentially get New Orleans Pelicans player Anthony Davis.

In an article published by NESN, the Celtics told the players of the Pelicans that all of them can be available this summer to play with them. This is in hopes that this could be the way for them to get Anthony Davis, the 25-year-old power forward and center of the team.

It was also reported that Anthony Davis told the Pelicans in late January that he is not going to sign an extension. He also said that he wanted to be moved to another team.

So does this mean that the Celtics can finally recruit Anthony Davis? It is going to be complicated.

The Celtics could not get Anthony Davis this season because the "Rose Rule" is currently implemented. The "Rose Rule" is in which teams are prohibited in adding multiple players via trade that have signed rookie extensions.

If ever they will really push in getting Anthony Davis, this is not the first time that the Celtics must face the "Rose Rule". Back in August 2017, they have to deal with this rule when they are getting Kyrie Irving.

So who is the Celtics player that could be in replace of Anthony Davis? Circulating rumors are pointing at Jayson Tatum.

In an article published in Sporting News, Jayson Tatum told The Athletic that he is aware of the rumors of being replaced by Anthony Davis. However, he insisted that the rumors don't bother him at all.

Jayson Tatum said the Anthony Davis rumors will not affect his wish of playing basketball anywhere. He said that he will play for whoever wants him since it was his job and the trading talks are already out of his control.

"I'll play for whoever wants me," Jayson Tatum said when asked about his thoughts on the Anthony Davis trade rumors. "That's my job [and] I know I can't control any of that stuff, so I'm not going to lose sleep over it," he added.

So why is Anthony Davis being sought by the Celtics? So far, the Pelicans player has recorded an average of 29.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game this season at the NBA.

Anthony Davis was previously offered by the Los Angeles Lakers multiple times before the deadline. However, no deal was reached
