Scott Bacula's Dwayne Pride is welcoming back an old friend on NCIS: New Orleans. Tom Arnold's Elvis Bertrand is returning in an episode expected to air this spring, and he won't be alone.
According to TV Line, Elvis will be with his lesbian daughter who is also an expert at hacking just like her dad. The show has not yet named the actress who will play the character, but Arnold has posted that he was on the set of NCIS: New Orleans with Bacula quite recently.
According to Cinema Blend, Arnold's return to NCIS: New Orleans is part of the series' on-going them of telling the back stories of its lead characters. Presumably, the episode featuring Arnold will be about security hacking since that's the character's expertise.
Arnold last appeared on NCIS: New Orleans in season 4 to help out his buddy, who had to clear his name during a trial. Together with Sydney Halliday (played by Riann Steele) and Oliver Crane (played by Mark Gessner), Elvis was able to hack into a computer to clear Pride.
The experienced hacker has previously helped Pride at least two more times on NCIS: New Orleans. Will he become a permanent part of the show moving forward or will the series see more of his daughter in the future episodes?
Meanwhile, Tuesday, March 12's episode of NCIS: New Orleans will find Necar Zadegan's Hannah Khoury in danger. A terrorist with a vendetta is back, so the NCIS team puts Hannah and her family under protective custody.
This has been one of the season-long focus of the series. Hannah was brought in to head the team following Pride's promotion. It has been revealed that the real reason she joined the NCIS team in New Orleans was to be near her daughter who's with her ex-husband.
The following episode, which airs March 26, will feature a reshuffle in NCIS: New Orleans. Pride moves back to the office where there is an investigation of a missing officer.
CBS has not yet renewed NCIS: New Orleans for a sixth season. It's averaging more than 7.54 million viewers every week and although it's numbers are down by 11 percent, as per TV Series Finale, the show is still in good standing with CBS. Thus, there's a good chance it will return for the 2019-2020 season, and the announcement might come by May after season 5 completes its airing.
