Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are considered as two of the most bankable stars in Hollywood with the undeniable success of the Fifty Shadesmovie trilogy. The duo gained a significant number of followings when they starred as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the erotic-romantic franchise based on the books written by E.L. James. With the conclusion of the saga in Feb. 2018, avid followers of Amelia Warner and Chris Martin's partners are wondering if they are going to work together again in a different project.
It is undeniable that Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson gave justice to their roles in Fifty Shades of Grey, Fifty Shades Darker, and Fifty Shades Freed movies. Despite their sadomasochistic relationship, viewers were stunned by how their romance had matured in time. Because of this, there have been speculations saying that the franchise is not finished yet and another installment might happen in the near future.
Our dear friends at EconoTimes shared Fifty Shades author E.L. James, previously, hinted that there is still a chance to see more of Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson in another movie. Though the trilogy had ended already, James said she is still open to the idea of having a fourth movie. "I have an idea for the fourth book, but I can't tell you anything about that without really spoiling it. So, if I ever do it, yeah, I've got the first line," she said.
However, should another movie be pursued, it seems like fans would have to accept the possibility of having a new face for the Christian Grey character. Jamie Dornan, previously, shared that he would like to move on from his role in the Fifty Shades film series. "I probably won't ever take a job with this much attention and scrutiny and public opinion directed at it again. And that's fine! From a practical point of view, you just move on to the next and keep your head down," the former leading man of Dakota Johnson said to Vulture in an interview.
American actress Marcia Gay Harden, however, expressed her interest to reprise her role as Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey, who is the adoptive mother of Jamie Dornan's character, Christian Grey. Since E.L. James released a book titled Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey As Told by Christian, the 59-year-old The First Wives star said that having a fourth movie is very possible. "I'm trying to now think about, 'What would Christian's point of view be. Would mom even be in it?'" she told People in 2017.
If we follow strictly follow the trilogy, it can be concluded that the Fifty Shades franchise is already complete. However, with its success and massive following, it would come as no surprise should the producers and distributors reconsider their decision to stop the saga.
