Something big is about to come to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6. The show's transmedia producer Geoffrey Colo teased a big announcement would be revealed on March 18, along with more details. As the Marvel series' storyline has been kept under wraps, here is some little information known about it.

Marvel unveiled the first trailer for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 in January, per CBR. It gave a glimpse to Phil Coulson's (Clark Gregg) mysterious doppelganger a year after the previous season finale. To recall, the former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D died to the wounds he got from Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in the 2012 movie The Avengers.

With this doppelganger's appearance, TVGuide reported Clark Gregg would still be on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6. The 56-year-old star revealed he would be playing a new character in the new season that looked exactly like Coulson, but they would differ in personality. His appearance might also cause trouble for the team.

"We're introduced to a new character who happens to have a very similar aesthetic to Coulson," Chloe Bennet, who plays as Skye, said. So having that as a constant reminder in a way turns out to not be the easiest."

Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) also died in the previous season finale, but he might also be seen on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6. With the help of the time travel, there would be a past version of himself floating in space somewhere. Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) would be in a mission to track her husband, which she said easier said than done.

With Coulson's death, someone had to take his position and be the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Mack (Henry Simmons) would be in charge of the whole team on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6, but it would never be an easy transition.

"It's been fun to kind of have the dynamic shift with Mack as the Director because there's always that [expectation of] living up to Coulson," Bennet revealed. "It puts him in a different position from all the other characters."

From the looks of it, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 6 has a lot of new things to offer with its 13 episodes that would be divided into two story arcs. Although Coulson seemed to die in the Season 5 finale, the eponymous team would continue to defend the world with his guidance. Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennet, Henry Simmons, Iain De Caestecker, Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Elizabeth Henstridge and Clark Gregg would all return to reprise their roles when the show hits the small screens in May on ABC.
