Ayala Corporation of the Philippines has been awarded Asia's Best Integrated Report ('Highly Commended') award at the annual Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA). Inquirer reported that the company received the award in the event, held in Singapore only last March 6.
The Ayala Group was recognized for its innovations, including the 'Integrated Report,' which was the first in the Philippines. The 'Report' gave a clear indication of how Ayala used its various sectors--finance, manufacturing, human and natural resources were only a few sectors in which the Ayala Group maintained interests in.
The report also detailed how the Philippine-based company delved into different businesses covering banking, water, telecommunications, and real estate. It also disclosed Ayala's different processes and how each of these was distributed within the company's different interests.
The awards-giving body also handed out an award to Taiwan property rental services firm Sinyi Realty. According to Eco-Business, the firm was recognized for a similar display of sustainability, such as the one that Ayala Land Inc showed.
The Taiwanese property film grabbed five prizes, the highest being the most coveted prize from the event--the 'Asia's Report of the Year' recognition. That was added to 'Asia's Best Sustainability Report,' 'Asia's Best Workplace Reporting,' 'Asia's Best Diversity Reporting,' and 'Asia's Best Online Sustainability Report.'
The company is based in Taipei and maintains business interests in China, Japan, and Southeast Asia. The brokerage firm isn't a newcomer to receiving such awards as well, taking home six nominations from last year. The awards were eventually won by Thai energy firm The Banchak Corporation.
As for other winners, Taishin Holdings went home with the award for 'Asia's Best Materiality Reporting' and was highly commended as well for 'Asia's Best SDG Reporting.' Meanwhile, Cathay Financial Holding took honors for 'Asia's Best Workplace Reporting.'
The awards were presided over by H.E Scott Wightman, who was the British High Commissioner in Singapore. It was also attended by most senior business leaders from 13 invited countries, as well as dignitaries from other branches of study such as non-profit organizations and trade associations.
82 companies from 14 countries managed to make it to the final rounds. The Reporting Awards also surveyed 17 categories, handing out awards in those fields.
