Joey Lawrence is returning to Hawaii Five-0. The actor himself revealed that he would be reprising his guest-starring role on the CBS cop drama for the upcoming two-part season finale.

In a post in Instagram, Lawrence said that he's inside a trailer for the Hawaii Five-0 season 9 production. The actor also said that he's filming the finale episode, which will be played out in two parts.

Lawrence plays Aaron Wright in the series, who was first introduced in 2017 as the brother of the hacker Ian Wright (played by Nick Jonas). The actor reprised his role a couple of times more when the Five-0 team needed him for his skills.

It's likely that the two-part finale will feature a hacker group that may be behind an organized crime that the group has been tracking down in the last few episodes. The planned violence could potentially impact the island and kill thousands of innocent people, and Wright might likely be tapped for his help to foil this plan.

The last episode of Hawaii Five-0 season9 is expected to air on Friday, May 17, at 9:00 p.m., as per Entertainment Weekly. CBS should have more news about the show's renewal for season 10 by then.

The ninth season has been down in its viewership by 10 percent compared to last season. However, it is still averaging good numbers at around 7.5 million a week, and it is retaining its demographic audience for Friday night.

There are also no talks nor buzz that the show is ending after season 9. Hence, it seems like a given that Hawaii Five-0 will be renewed for season 10.

Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 20 will not be airing until Friday, April 5. The show is taking a two-week break beginning this week, but there will be no more interruptions in its scheduling once it's back on air to complete its ninth season run.

Meanwhile, last week's episode, Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 19, seemed to have a set up a storyline for Junior Reigns (played by Beulah Koale) and his family. The story dealt with the impact of the death of his sister, Maya, towards his father, Natano.

Maya's death was first revealed in passing in Hawaii Five-0 season 8 and last week's episode shed more details to her death. However, as this still wasn't clearly explained, it looks like the writers of Hawaii Five-0have more plans to play this up for a future storyline for the Reigns.
