The upcoming major martial arts film Triple Threat is about to show fans what an action-packed movie looks like. With a lot of shoots and kicks moviegoers are about to see, they will feel the nostalgia of watching classic action films featuring martial artists and known action stars.

"A down-and-out team of mercenaries must take on a group of professional assassins and stop them before they kill their target: a billionaire's daughter intent on bringing down a major crime syndicate," Triple Threat official synopsis read. "This breakneck thriller teams over half a dozen of the world's biggest action stars for the martial arts event film of the year."

According to Forbes, Triple Threat is the closest film that will remind people of Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger movies. The film focuses more on actions, giving fans the entertainment to see the stars in intense fighting scenes. It can even be likened to The Expendables by featuring heroes and villains together.

Triple Threat manages to gather Tony Jaa (Payu), Iko Uwais (Jaka), Scott Adkins (Collins), Michael Jai White (Devereaux), Tiger Hu Chen (Long Fei), Michael Bisping (Joey), and Jeeja Yanin (Mook) into one movie to create an ultimate action film. Choreographed by Tim Man, who is behind the intense scenes on Nijan II, the movie is a must see for people who love different combat sequences.

Directed by Jesse V. Johnson, he has worked with a lot of martial artists today, and bring them all together in Triple Threat. "The project came to me as an idea at that point. They had two scripts. They have three lead actors. But, it was an idea," he told LRMOnline.

The film was put together for Tiger Chen to create a movie like The Expendables that he would lead, along with Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais. When Johnson joined Triple Threat, there were two scripts but neither of which was right. But when Joey O'Bryan came in, he ironed things out and created the perfect script by sorting the "most appropriate parts" of the two scripts.

"The script itself had to develop as the project came together in terms of location wise, casting wise and schedule-wise," Johnson added. Triple Threat was shot in Thailand, and the director perfectly knew what they could and could not do in the country in terms of production. There were extraordinary difficult shots that they needed to do, but there were also scenes that they could only do in that place.

Triple Threat was created in an "organic and pragmatic process," which Johnson proudly said that "went vey well." The film was out in a wide release for one night on Tuesday, March 19, and set to be seen in select theaters and Video On Demand (VOD) on Friday, March 22.
