Series of rumors continue to plagued actress Reese Witherspoon. This time, a report suggests that the 42-year-old actress and husband Jim Toth's marriage is allegedly experiencing a rocky patch that may lead to divorce.
According to the latest issue of Star Magazine, Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth are currently facing marriage troubles due to the drama tied to her former husband, Ryan Phillippe. The report rehashes how the latter was sued by his ex-girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, for $1 million accusing him of assault and battery.
In particular, Ryan Phillippe allegedly hit and violently threw her down a staircase after an intense argument. The Instagram model and influencer further alleged that Ryan Phillippe abused drugs like ecstasy, cocaine, psychedelic mushrooms, and steroids, among others. Due to this, the 44-year-old actor has allegedly been constantly communicating with his ex-wife, Reese Witherspoon.
"Reese's latest drama with her ex is only placing more strain on the already tarnished relationship," an unnamed source told Star Magazine, as quoted by Gossip Cop. "Pals fear it's only a matter of time before Reese... is faced with another failed relationship," the source added.
However, there is no evidence that supports Star Magazine's claims. Gossip Cop also stressed that Ryan Phillippe's legal problems have nothing to do with Reese Witherspoon's marriage to Jim Toth. It is also worth noting that Ryan Phillippe has denied he sent any text messages to his ex-wife following the alleged assault.
He also denied all allegations of assault and accused his ex-girlfriend of trying to extort him with false allegations. He stressed to have only treated her with respect and kindness all throughout their relationship.
Reese Witherspoon, however, remains tight-lipped about the issue. It can be recalled that the Sweet Home Alabama actress first met Ryan Phillippe at her 21st birthday party in March 1997. They got married in 1998, only to announce their separation in late 2006. They share two children together - Ava Elizabeth Phillippe and Deacon Reese Phillippe.
Following their split, Reese Witherspoon started dating Jim Toth, who is a talent agent at Creative Artists Agency. The two tied the knot in March 2011 at Libbey Ranch in Ojai California, after two years of dating. They have a son together named Tennessee James Toth.
In other news, Reese Witherspoon will reprise her character as Elle Woods in the upcoming Legally Blonde 3. She will also produce the highly-anticipated comedy film through her Hello Sunshine production company.
