The Umbrella Academy Season 2's future remains up in the air as Netflix has yet to renew the show. But with the previous season finale's open-ending, there are a lot of possibilities that the show will continue to tie the loose ends.

Speaking at the MCM Comic Con in Birmingham on Sunday, March 24, Tom Hopper, who plays as Number One or Luther Hargreeves, and Emmy Raver-Lampman, who portrays Number Three or Allison Hargreeves, they said they had no idea if The Umbrella Academy Season 2 would still happen. "I wish! Call up Netflix," the latter said, via Digital Spy.

But with the show's popularity, it will be a big surprise if The Umbrella Academy Season 2 will never happen. Raver-Lampman said she was shocked with the series' fame, although Netflix keeps its ratings a secret. Hopper, on the other hand, disclosed that he felt great seeing fans' response.

The show is continuously doing well on Netflix and with its fan base, viewers' clamor for The Umbrella Academy Season 2. Hopper revealed he didn't know the series would become huge the moment it hits the small screen. So everything happens today is a big surprise for him.

Meanwhile, there are theories the Commission works for a post-apocalyptic race, and it may be revealed on The Umbrella Academy Season 2, per Screen Rant. When Five (Aidan Gallagher) took the time jump, he ended up in a "post-apocalyptic" wasteland, which is the only sole survivor of the human race.

He couldn't return home, so he lived there for years until the Handler (Kate Walsh) approached him. Five thought the Commission would rewrite the history and prevent the end of the world, but the Handler revealed it wouldn't be the case. Would this be at play on The Umbrella Academy Season 2?

The Handler seemed relaxed about the apocalypse and didn't believe it would be the end of everything. In fact, she said it would only be the end of "something," which might mean that the human race was the one that would end and go extinct.

The Commission has been using advanced technology since the very beginning, even though humanity has no capacity to develop this equipment. This side of the story only makes the claims about the Commission.

Although Netflix has yet to announce The Umbrella Academy Season 2's coming, Hypebeast reported its production might begin later this year in Toronto, Canada. Daredevil and Iron Fist director Peter Hoar will direct the show's first episode after directing the previous season's finale and pilot episodes.
