Katy Perry remains to be one of the American Idol judges despite rumors a year ago that the show's producers allegedly put her on a "short leash." The issue has something to do to her reportedly raunchy attitude, her remarks, and actions in the reality series.

A tabloid magazine's alleged source said Katy Perry was showing "diva behavior" on American Idol. The 34-year-old star was also said to be "too raunchy" for the family-oriented show after kissing a young boy.

Katy Perry surprisingly gave a shy contestant, a teenage boy named Benjamin Glaze, a kiss. Later, the kid said he felt uncomfortable with what the Roar hitmaker did, but cleared that he was "not complaining" getting kissed. From this event, the star reportedly received a warning from American Idol for being too raunchy.

But according to Gossip Cop, there is no truth about this story. Production sources and the songwriter's rep confirmed she was never put on a short leash. She is free to do everything on American Idol.

The network even let Katy Perry made a contestant cry after she cracked a cruel joke on a girl group. At the time, she said only three out of the four women could go to the next round of American Idol, and the other one had to leave voluntarily. If Orlando Bloom's fiancé had a leash on her, she couldn't do it.

Meanwhile, on the first night of American Idol's Hollywood Week, Katy Perry showed her fun side despite being sick. Russell Brand's former spouse sneezed and sniffed in the middle of Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie as she suffered head colds, per AOL Entertainment.

At one point, she even stuffed tissue papers into her nostrils to stop her nose from running. She even changed her voice to make it look she's okay.

However, Katy Perry proved that she still has her golden voice as Luke Bryan asked her to sing "Fireworks" with tissue paper in her nose. To everyone's surprised, she effortlessly reached the high notes without a sweat.

But when a contestant, named Dimitrius Graham, came to the scene, Katy Perry couldn't stop her nose from running as she cried on his story. The American Idol aspirant revealed his mother was set to have surgery, but he couldn't be by her side because he needed to perform.

So, he called his mother on FaceTime and asked American Idol judges to say hi and let her watch him perform. "Hi, mama," Katy Perry told Graham's mom, while Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie crowded around her.

Lionel Richie gave the mom some comforting words and asked her to watch her son sing. "We want you to be a part of this moment," he said.
