Viewers of 9-1-1 should get ready for a rollercoaster of feelings. After Howie "Chimney" Han (Kenneth Choi) suffered a major injury, the forthcoming episode 13 will reveal Maddie Buckley Kendall's (Jennifer Love Hewitt) fate.

Before that, here's a quick recap (via Entertainment Weekly) of what happened in the latest episode of 9-1-1 Season 2. Episode 12, titled "Chimney Begins," took viewers back to the moment when Howie "Chimney" Han first joined Station 118.

Howie "Chimney" Han was actually at a crossroads before joining the fire department. After he failed to secure bank loans for his next invention, the character was looking for a sign, and it came in the form of a woman on fire.

After saving the woman's life, Howie "Chimney" Han realized he was destined to be a firefighter. So he signed up to join the Los Angeles Fire Department and underwent rigorous training before being assigned to Station 118.

The flashback happened while Howie "Chimney" Han is bleeding out in front of Maddie Buckley Kendall's apartment after being stabbed by her abusive ex-husband, Doug Kendall / Jason Bailey (Brian Hallisay), to death.

But before viewers find out Howie "Chimney" Han's fate, the upcoming episode of 9-1-1 Season 2 will see what happens to Maddie Buckley Kendall's first after Doug Kendall / Jason Bailey knocked her out. In particular, episode 13 will follow the First Responders rallying together to search for her, as per Carter Matt.

However, searching for Maddie Buckley Kendall will not be easy as one-two-three. Showrunner Tim Minear said the issue would not be resolved right away as they want the viewers to be worried for a little bit.

"As we go out on [Episode 211], Chimney is not OK (laughs)," Tim Minear said. "And then in the next episode we're going to be doing a Chimney origin story, and it does not forget where we are in the timeline, but we're going to learn more about Chimney and then we'll come back and resolve his storyline in the present. And Chimney does everything in this origin story, and we learn so much. It's amazing," he added.

Other stars appearing in 9-1-1 Season 2 are Angela Bassett as Athena Grant, Peter Krause as Robert "Bobby" Nash, Oliver Stark as Evan "Buck" Buckley, Aisha Hinds as Henrietta "Hen" Wilson, and Rockmond Dunbar as Michael Grant.

9-1-1 Season 2 episode 13, titled "Fight or Flight," is set to air on April 1 at 9:00 p.m. (EST) on Fox.
