Ever since Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt head for divorce, the rumors surrounding the two have been circling nonstop. The 43-year-old actress is reportedly going broke amid her split with Jennifer Aniston's former husband.
There are reports Angelina Jolie finds it hard time to financially support her six children: Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and Vivienne and Knox, 10. As her divorce case against Brad Pitt is still ongoing, the legal fees reportedly take its toll on her savings.
"Ange is strapped for cash and finding it hard to make ends meet," an alleged source told a tabloid magazine. So to make ends meet, Angelina Jolie allegedly hastened the release of her new movie, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. The film is originally set for release in May 2020, but Disney announced it would be out earlier than expected in October this year.
This move is said to benefit Angelina Jolie as she could collect her backend pay early. The tipster claimed Brad Pitt's ex-wife perfectly knew that Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will make a killing at the box office, so she allegedly pushed for its earlier release.
But, Gossip Cop insists on the story about Angelina Jolie going broke is not true at all. Disney intentionally changed Maleficent: Mistress of Evil release schedule to avoid competing with blockbuster movies like Fast & Furious 9 and The Spongebob Movie. The studio saw that the October release was more "desirable" than May 2020, so it decided to alter the time.
There is also no way that Angelina Jolie is going broke after Forbes put her on the second spot on the list of highest-paid actresses of 2018. Although it can be denied that her divorce from Brad Pitt is highly expensive, it doesn't mean she is bankrupt. Sources close to the Maleficent actress also confirmed the rumors about her being penniless are false.
It is not the first time Angelina Jolie faces bankruptcy rumors. In August 2018, there are also reports the humanitarian is broke after she asked for Brad Pitt's child support. Sources close to the 55-year-old actor even think the news that she is tight on cash and finds it hard to finance their kids are "crazy," per The Blast.
Several tipsters claimed that Brad Pitt had been the top earner of the family for the past decade. However, child and spousal support in California are based on current income. As the former couple almost have the same earnings at the time, money is never their problem.
From the looks of it, Angelina Jolie never struggled to financially support her kids, let alone having a hard time to pay for their needs. The actress has a net worth of $160 million, so she can basically afford anything she and her children need.
