There are a lot of things to expect in Shadowhunters season 3 episode 16 and it will surely bring different emotions. The title of the next episode is "Stay With Me" is possibly a reference from Sam's Smith song, which is all about longing for someone.
In the synopsis of Shadowhunters season 3 episode 16, Clary and Jace decided to make a risky plan to get rid of her twinning rune. Alec, on the other hand, is really worried about Magnus. For the next episode, viewers will see how the Jace and Clary eliminate the latter's rune, particularly because it is causing her to be more like Jonathan. She's finding it hard to get rid of him because of its presence and the worst part is that she's becoming more like him. That fate is considered worse than death as no one wanted to lose their sense of self and become someone else.
There is something about the rune that increases Clary's bond with Jonathan, so her relationship with Jace is becoming more complicated as well. Fans wanted to see them happy, yet it's difficult for them because Clary feels she's becoming less like Clary and she couldn't do anything about it. It's obvious there's a link between her and her brother and it is a reminder how terrible Jonathan is, especially he tends to emotionally manipulate people.
Shadowhunters season 3 episode 16 will also provide what every Malec fans wanted to see, specifically Magnus' fate is in question and Alec will do everything just to save him. One of the questions left in the previous episode is whether Magnus is going to be okay or not. A heartbreaking moment for Malec fans was when he collapsed and Alec scrambled to figure out what to do.
Many viewers believe Magnus will find ways to get through this crisis. It's worth mentioning that before he collapsed, both of them agreed to move in together. Magnus' experience living in the Institute made him realized it's uncomfortable that he feared, so Alec proposed to find a new place where they could live together and Magnus agreed.
So it's clear that there are still more stories to tell to this couple, which is a perfect way to culminate the third season. They've been through almost everything and it's nice to see them realize how stronger they are together rather than they are apart.
