Turn Up Charlie just hit the online streaming giant Netflix, but the viewers are already clamoring for more. Fans, however, will have to wait a little longer as the show has not yet been green-lighted for Season 2.

Created by Gary Reich and Idris Elba, Turn Up Charlie follows a washed-up disc jockey (DJ), Charlie (Idris Elba), who is given a chance to reignite his music career in one condition - he must look after the daughter of his established actor friend, David (JJ Field) and wife Sara (Piper Perabo).

However, taking care of David and Sara's one and only child, Gabrielle also known as Gabby (Frankie Hervey), is not as easy as one-two-three as she is more troublesome and stubborn than Charlie anticipates.

Ever since the eight episodes of Turn Up Charlie premiered on March 15, fans have been wanting to know when they can witness the next chapter of Charlie's life. If Netflix picks it up for another season, it will likely arrive in March or April 2020 since the streaming giant's shows usually take about a year-long hiatus in between seasons.

Further, the actors' busy schedules should also be considered as well. Idris Elba, 46, has been tapped to play Macavity in the upcoming musical fantasy comedy-drama adaptation of Cats and Brixton Lore in the much-awaited film Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. He will also replace Will Smith as Floyd Lawton (also known as Deadshot) in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.

Piper Perabo, on the other hand, is also busy with the productions of the upcoming action thriller film Angel Has Fallen. She also landed a major role in the upcoming fantasy sci-fi film, Spontaneous, directed by Ric Roman Waugh.

As for the possible storyline, Turn Up Charlie Season 2 will most likely pick up after the events of the first season. It could follow Charlie as he embarks on a world tour and explore how his career is affected by dating his former manager, Astrid (Angela Griffin). It could also further delve into his relationship with his parents and aunt Lydia.

The next installment could also see the return of Guz Khan, Dan Brown, Jocelyn Jee Esien, Joan G., Jade Anouka, Dustin Demri-Burns, Rina Sawayama, Emily Carey and Cameron King. However, it remains unseen if it will still be produced by Brown Eyed Boy Productions and Green Door Pictures.
