Jane The Virgin season 5 episode 1 has arrived and one of the most shocking revelations is that Michael is alive. However, the sad news is that this season will also be the last for the series. For now, let's talk about the happenings in the first episode of the final installment.
Jane The Virgin season 5 episode 1 premiered on March 27, on the CW. Then, on March 28, the final installment will be released on Netflix, in the UK, and Ireland, as reported by Express. The first episode, which is the "Chapter Eighty-Two", can also be streamed on other platforms such as DirecTV Now, Hulu, and Roku. There are many shocking revelations on the fifth season of Jane The Virgin and fans are really excited about it.
The synopsis of Jane The Virgin season 5 episode 1 teased that Jane (Gina Rodriguez) makes a "shocking discovery" and she turns to Rafael (Justin Baldoni) to find answers yet the latter refused to answer and is confused with his decision to put everything they had on hold. Petra (Yael Grobglas), on the other hand, tries to secure a future and hoping to be with JR (guest star Rosario Dawson). However, her past could likely jeopardize everything.
The fourth season of the installment left fans hanging after Jane's late husband Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) suddenly appeared, which many believed he's already dead in the third season. It can be recalled Michael suffered from a heart injury after being shot by drug lord Sin Rostro (Clara Ruvelle). Yet, during the end of season 4, he suddenly appeared which really shocked many viewers.
Of course, this incident will cause trouble for Jane's relationship with Rafael. This issue will be tackled on the fifth season and the teaser already showed the characters were struggling regarding Michael's resurrection. But, what exactly happened to him? In an interview with Vulture, showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman revealed she only decided to bring back the character after season 3 ended.
She said she didn't tell anyone about this, except for the writers, and then they all discussed it. The idea is that Jane and Rafael were already in a great place, so it's interesting to see that the other person - whom you love - came back. That's could possibly create a conflict between Jane and her current relationship with Rafael.
Meanwhile, some fans speculated that the one who returned is not actually Michael but his evil twin. However, Urman dismissed this theory saying that the character has no identical twin. But one thing is for sure, the drama between Jane and Michael will probably continue as the final installment goes on.
