The John Wick film series has become inevitably successful. And following the footsteps of two films to the franchise, John Wick: Chapter 3 is already on its way to the theaters. With only a month left, fans of the franchise are about to witness the action and suspense-filled film again.
The upcoming John Wick film carries the title John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. And there can be two different interpretations of its title. For one, Parabellum is a type of gun which somehow fits the picture of the film. Besides, fans have witnessed already John Wick's unique stunts when it comes to guns.
On the other hand, Parabellum is also a Latin phrase which means - prepare for war. This comes from the famous saying, "Si vis pacem, para bellum" which strictly translates to "If you want peace, prepare for war."
This is much more suitable to the film's dynamics considering that John Wick just wanted peace. And not to mention, this phrase was seen in the official trailer of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.
As everyone would recall it, the sequel of the franchise ended with a bounty on John Wick's head. This hefty bounty resulted in him being immediately surrounded with hundreds (or even thousands) of assassins. And based on the recently released trailer, it seemingly appears that John Wick: Chapter 3 will start its plot from this point.
Along with the famous phrase, it has been teased that John Wick is still on the run after the hefty bounty was placed in his head. And it can also be heard that everyone who knew about it "wants a piece of it." So, it appears that almost every assassin in the vicinity will run after him. Hence, the war. This also shows that new characters will rise in the third installment to the franchise.
As it happens, the trailer gives a glimpse to these new faces. These include Agent of SHIELD actor, Mark Dacascos, Halle Berry, Game of Thrones star, Jerome Flynn, and Brooklyn Nine-nine's Jason Mantzoukas. And they are revealed to play Zero, Sofia, Berrada, and Tic-Toc Man, respectively, who have significant roles in John Wick's life.
For the ones who are returning, Ian McShane and Laurence Fishburne as Winston and Bowery King are also seen to come after Wick. And most importantly, John Wick's new pit bull will also return.
So far, these are the most apparent things that people will get to see once the film arrives. John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum is set to hit the theaters on May 17, 2019.
