The first part of Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya's love story has ended with an expectation that it will continue on Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2. Although A-1 Pictures has yet to announce the anime series' renewal, the hopes are high that two fan-favorite characters will return to resume their tale.

The first season gave fans a good laugh, a lot of sweet moments, and emotional turn of events. The final episode proved the show could excel at "continuity and short-form stories," per Anime News Network. The finale went on reset, so it was never seen if things work went well for the heroes. As fans had no idea if Miyuki and Kaguya had a wonderful ending, it could possibly explore on Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2.

Although the anime series' summer vacation arc ended with an open-ending, it featured powerful character moments for Miyuki and Kaguya. Although they had been apart for the entire summer, they remained protective of their real feelings. Would they finally reveal they like each other on Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2?

The first season didn't show any changes in Miyuki and Kaguya's relationship. However, it made a lot of progress. Although neither of the two confessed their real feelings, they were aware of each other's emotions. The series had perfectly done a good job to put a balance on the plot front with a reset button that usually seen on comedy stories.

Things seemed to be back to normal for the group, but some fans believed what happened over the summer was not important. They also thought that it would not have an impact on a bigger picture should Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2 be in the works.

Polygon reported the first season started with a specific premise about the two high school students that couldn't admit they were in love with each other. So, they tried to wait for a confession of affection from one another. It then resulted in incredible mind games that they ended up outsmarting themselves. Would things change on Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2?

With the fame the anime series is now getting, it also surpassed its roots as a parody of traditional romantic comedy manga. Miyuki, Kaguya, and other characters managed to develop complex inner lives, while its story explored what the two leads couldn't say to each other.

Miyuki and Kaguya's tale eventually went into a different direction from the original competition-based premise into a story about how they tried to work through their feelings for one another. Although the plot stick to the idea of would they either say their feelings for each other or not, things might eventually change on Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2.
