Netflix confirmed it had renewed She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power for the second season, which is set to premiere later this month. The trailer, poster, and some images also arrived at the WonderCon in Anaheim, California in March, and it teases the things to expect in the next installment.
Many fans speculated She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power might not be returning for the second season, but those assumptions were thrown out of the window when Netflix confirmed season 2 will arrive on April 26, 2019. According to the synopsis of the second installment, the titular character Adora (Aimee Carrero) is finally accepting her destiny of becoming a legendary warrior princess, She-Ra, and leader of the Princess Rebellion. But, there are things she still needs to learn as Horde's threats grow and Catra (AJ Michalka) is sinking further in the world of evil.
The streaming giant debuted She-Ra reboot in 2017, with Adora getting a far different story and Eisner Award-winning writer Noelle Stevenson on board as showrunner. In the reboot, Adora is a soldier for the Evil Horde, and one day, she discovered a magical sword in the Whispering Woods. She unlocks its power by using the phrase "For the Honor of Grayskull!" and becomes She-Ra, the Princess of Power. With her friends Bow (Marcus Scribner) and Glimmer (Karen Fukuhara), Adora works hard to master the power of She-Ra and unite the princesses of Ethria to stop the evil Horde.
Now that the trailer and poster of She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power season 2 were released, fans can now further see what's coming for Adora. The clip teased She-Ra and team are fighting against the Horde and it seems like Catra, Scorpia (Lauren Ash), and Entrapta (Christine Woods) are still working together to halt her and to continue Horde's reign of terror and evil.
In addition, the second installment will still include what fans enjoyed in the previous season and it will also focus on Mermista, Perfuma, Frosta and the rest of the princesses. Aside from the trailer and the poster, the images released also showed the Princess Alliance preparing to fight the Horde, now lead by Hordak's new second-in-command, Catra. Her team includes two defected princesses, Entrapta and Scorpia.
What's more interesting in She-Ra And The Princesses Of Power season 2 is that relationship between Catra and Adora as many viewers wanted to find out what will happen to them, especially with their devastating fallout in the first season. However, it seems like they will be facing off once again in the upcoming installment.
