Black Cloud is the twentieth episode of The Resident Season 2. And since this is the fourth to the last episode of the season, the series is expected to drop a few negative storylines. In fact, the title of the upcoming episode is already a tell that something unpleasant is about to happen.
These unpleasantries seemed to have started in the previous episode, Snowed In, where everyone one in the Chastain Park Memorial Hospital encountered a snowstorm. This natural phenomenon has become a great hurdle to everyone that added to the overall challenge inside the hospital.
Although things were somehow sorted out in the end, the upcoming episode of The Resident appears to show the actual aftermath of the snowstorm inside and outside the hospital. And with the imminent end of the second season, it is only fitting that questions and maladies will furthermore rise to give way to its third season. Remember, The Resident has been already renewed for another season.
In reference to the synopsis of the Black Cloud, it revealed that Devon will face a huge deal of concern over a mother who just delivered a baby. This concern is specifically about her unaddressed complaints which will lead Bell to take "drastic measures."
On another aspect, a mother and son who obtained "devastating injuries" will enter the emergency room. And these two new patients will be under Mina, Kit, and The Raptor's eye and care. Meanwhile, it is also revealed that Conrad will face his own struggles when he is about to break the news to Nic that Jessie is not getting well at all.
From these things alone, the upcoming episode of The Resident seemingly appears to be a very struggle-filled installment to the season. Nevertheless, Cartermatt believes that this is just the last storm before everything calms down. Hence, the title, Black Cloud.
According to the outlet, these storylines are just suitable for the near end of the season. As it appears, the series is warranting the cases of each character in the series to further give justice to the plot of the season. So, in a way, this new episode is believed to be a way for the second season to end well.
But even so, fans and viewers of the show will need to see this for themselves to learn whether this is a true hypothesis or not. The twentieth episode of the second season of The Resident will return on FOX, on April 15.
