Love will be in the air on The Good Doctor Season 3. After Shaun (Freddie Highmore) asked Carly (Jasika Nicole) on a date in the previous season finale, a new romance is about to blossom. But although Shaun seemed to go with Carly, fans believed he would end up with Claire (Antonia Thomas).
A Redditor claimed Claire and Shaun are more likely to end up together on The Good Doctor Season 3. Their chemistry is said to be like Friends' Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Monica (Courteney Cox), so it is not far that they will be together.
The previous season finale even hinted that the show's writers are teasing the possibility of the two having a romantic relationship. Hence, something might be happening between Claire and Shaun on The Good Doctor Season 3 like a brewing relationship.
Showrunner David Shore said, via Express.co.uk, Shaun would be playing a role of a suitor on The Good Doctor Season 3 after he portrayed a caretaker in the previous season. Hence, fans may see him courting and pursuing a relationship with Claire. But, there are also possibilities that he will be dating Carly instead after he asked her out in Season 2 finale episode.
"There were multiple, viable choices for who he would ask out for his first date," Shore told IndieWire. But things may get complicated on The Good Doctor Season 3 as Lea (Paige Spara) is also one of the options. The showrunner believed fans are rooting Shaun to have a relationship with Lea, but they also like Carly and Claire.
Both Carly and Claire like Shaun. They also accept him for who he is. On Season 1, Carly and Shaun already showed an "instantaneous connection." Her character was also explored when she worked with Shaun for a few episodes. So, on The Good Doctor Season 3, they would be going to go out and learn more things about each other.
Shaun will learn about dating on The Good Doctor Season 3. Carly, on the other hand, is going to see dating in a different light. Shore even hinted the writers would slowly explore this storyline in the new season.
Talking about Shaun's character, Shore added one of the greatest things about his character is he celebrates small victories like it is so big. As they don't want to end his story any faster than they need to just yet, they will explore all of the aspects of Shaun's social life. And that is what The Good Doctor Season 3 will be all about. The new season is expected to be out this fall on ABC.
