Anticipation continues for HBO's Game of Thrones Season 8, and as the premiere date drew nearer, more promotional videos have been released. One of which teases the aftermath and possible deaths of the Battle of Winterfell.

On Tuesday, April 2, the newest teaser video was dropped for Game of Thrones Season 8. The video, titled "Aftermath," shows a worn Stark direwolf banner as sounds of howling winds, clanging swords and roaring dragons are heard in the background.

The scene immediately cuts to a destroyed and abandoned Winterfell along with the fan-favorite characters' iconic belongings. These include Jaime Lannister's (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) golden hand, Tyrion Lannister's (Peter Dinklage) "The Hand of The King" pin, Arya Stark's (Maisie Williams) thin sword, Bran Stark's (Isaac Hempstead Wright) wooden wheelchair, and Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) Valyrian steel sword.

As if the promotional video was not enough, HBO also released a new poster for Game of Thrones Season 8 which shows the main characters' corpses arranged in the same shape as the iconic Iron Throne of Westeros. The Twitter post comes with a caption that reads: "The great war was here. #GameofThrones."

It is no secret that some characters will lay down their lives in the Great War - the war between the living and the dead. The Night King (Vladimir Furdik) and the White Walkers are currently are opposed by the Night's Watch, the North, the Brotherhood Without Banners, the Free Folk, and the Vale - under the leadership of the King in the North, Jon Snow.

Jon Snow is later joined by Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), who leads the forces of House Targaryen along with House Lannister under her hand, Tyrion Lannister. Jaime Lannister also abandoned his sister and lover, Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), to join the military forces of the North.

"This final face-off between the Army of the Dead and the army of the living is completely unprecedented and relentless and a mixture of genres even within the battle," co-executive producer Bryan Cogman said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly when asked about the much-awaited Great War. "There are sequences built within sequences. David and Dan [wrote] an amazing puzzle and Miguel came in and took it apart and put it together again. It's been exhausting but, I think it will blow everybody away," he added.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will consists of only six episodes and will premiere on April 14 on HBO.
