The droughtlander continues as fans are still waiting for new details about Outlander Season 5. Caitriona Balfe is regularly keeping fans posted about the show on Instagram. But viewers are waiting for an official update from the network, at least, after Sam Heughan hinted the first table read.
According to CarterMatt, Sam Heughan answered a fan on Twitter that Outlander Season 5 first table read would happen on April 2. But as the 38-year-old actor made the tweet on April 1, aka April Fools' Day, there might be no truth about it and was only a big joke. As the said day came and went, no table read happened.
But as Outlander Season 5's production is now gearing up, the much-awaited table read may be happening real soon. Filming is believed to be underway as the show's cast and crew are now all preparing for their upcoming hectic schedules.
The cast will be soon gathered in the same room for Outlander Season 5 table read and spend the next few months together for the show's production. They, too, may be in new places as the show also puts its focus on realistic settings by creating environments that feel real.
In fact, Caitriona Balfe gave fans a glimpse of Outlander Season 5 new set on Instagram in March. "And so it begins....... Season 5 (yep that's 1, 2, 3, 4..FIVE) prep time!!!!" she captioned the clip while giving fans a tour of the place. At one point, she even shouted when she saw the creator of the show's new home. "Excuse the shrill shouting, but I was very very excited to catch @jongarysteele on the incredible new set he and his team of genius artisans have built !!! Get READY!!!" she added.

In another post, Caitriona Balfe showed the official script of Outlander Season 5 Episode 1. However, she only revealed the folder's outer cover as she excitedly clanged to it. The show's official social media page re-grammed her post and teased the new season's production is about to start that they could almost "taste it."
Starz has yet to announce when Outlander Season 5 will officially hit the small screen. But in an interview with executive producer Maril Davis, via Town & Country Magazine, she revealed the show's writers are now hard at work on the series' new chapter. So in no time, fans would once again see Claire (Balfe) and Jamie (Heughan) on television.
