Carlos Ghosn has been arrested again in Tokyo, Japan on Thursday while he is out on bail. With his new arrest, the former Nissan boss said that the prosecutors are on the move to 'break' him.

According to BBC, the prosecutors issued his new arrest warrant over new claims that he inappropriately used the company's funds. It was said that the 65-year-old caused Nissan to lose US$5 million or £3.8 million.

Likewise, this is in connection to the $32 million Nissan funds that were paid to a distributor in Oman. It was alleged that some of the funds were used by Ghosn and his family to purchase a luxury yacht. Ghosn angrily criticized his detention despite being on bail and called the incident as "outrageous and arbitrary."

Junichiro Hironaka, Carlos Ghosn's lawyer denied any irregularities in the use of the said funds. His representatives added that "under no circumstances has all or part of such payments benefited Carlos Ghosn or his family."

Hironaka said that they will appeal against this new arrest order. He further relayed that the Tokyo prosecutors had seized the ex-Nissan chief's mobile phone and passport.

Ghosn fresh arrest comes less than a month after posting bail for his original charges on alleged financial misconduct and aggravated breach of trust. He was detained in November 2018 and released on bond last month.

"My arrest this morning is outrageous and arbitrary," NBC quoted Ghosn as saying in a statement after his latest arrest. "It is part of another attempt by some individuals at Nissan to silence me by misleading the prosecutors. Why arrest me except to try to break me?"

He went on to say,  "I will not be broken. I am innocent of the groundless charges and accusations against me."

Since his arrest in November last year, Ghosn repeatedly refuted the allegations that he concealed the real amount of his salary as Nissan's head and declared lower rates. He was also accused of using company funds for personal effects and to make up for personal investment losses.

Meanwhile, Carlos Ghosn's rearrest on Thursday was carried just a day after he announced on Twitter that he is getting ready, to tell the truth. He said that he is preparing for a press conference that is supposed to take place next week.

"I'm getting ready, to tell the truth about what's happening. Press conference on Thursday, April 11," he tweeted. This social media post created a buzz because as part of his bail agreement, he is not allowed to use the internet.
