Castle Rock has been one of the most popular titles in the world of films, series, and novels. It is no wonder why Hulu is renewing the series of the same title for a new installment.
Earlier this year, the news and updates about the upcoming season of the Hulu series have been circulating all over the media. This even happened during and after the actual airing of the first season. As it happened, many people fell, heads over heels, in love with Stephen King's Castle Rock on screen. So when the renewal of the series has been inked already, fans and audience rejoiced to welcome the upcoming season of the show.
Although the excitement and thrill are already present, there are no confirmations yet from the streaming service as to when Castle Rock will officially return. Even so, the cast and theme are already shared publicly.
As you may know, Stephen King based most of his published work in titular town, Castle Rock. In it, the series features various locations, settings, storylines, and plots based on the author's works. And for the upcoming season, it seemingly appears that the next installment's theme will feature most of King's 1987 "psychological horror" novel titled, Misery. Nonetheless, there are some reports as well that the second season will also include a few settings and themes from his other works.
In terms of the cast, it has been revealed to house a star-studded cast in the next installment. As it appears, the anthology series will continue to show various stories in the titular title that are not subsequent with each other. But rather, it will house different stories of different characters that are somehow related to each other. Hence, fans and audience can expect a wider set of cast, newer faces, and newer roles when the second season drops on Hulu.
The next season will be led by Mean Girls actress, Lizzy Caplan, who will play the role of the infamous budding psychopath, Annie Wilkes. Other notable stars who will be included in the upcoming season of Castle Rock includes Eighth Grade star, Elsie Fisher, Here and Now actor, Tim Robbins, Mosaic star, Garrett Hedlund, 13 Reasons Why's Matthew Alan, Assassin's Creed: Origins star, Yusra Warsam, and Blade Runner actor, Barkhad Abdi.
While the series has no confirmed and official release date yet, there are speculations that the series will return on Hulu sometime in 2019.
