Recently, 2NE1 member CL was spotted in the Mexico City International Airport, along with the girl group's manager Jjangmae. Reports say Stella Maxwell and Jeremy Scott also arrived in Mexico about the same time as CL's arrival. Many fans speculated this is a secret trip for the singer as new music projects are on the way. But aside from these speculations, fans also think Justin Bieber's "Let Me Love You" was originally meant to be her song.
Prior to the reports that CL was in Mexico for new music projects, Brian Lee shared a video of the 2NE1 member singing a different version of the chart-topping hit "Let Me Love You" by DJ Snake ft. Bieber, as reported by Allkpop. It can be heard in the video that the lyrics of the song were entirely different, compared to the version we already know.
Rumors further sparked "Let Me Love You" was really meant to be CL's songs when it was revealed the singer and DJ Snake met back in 2015. This prompted many fans theorizing that the song was, in fact, CL's. Furthermore, DJ Snake also liked several tweets pointing out the "Let Me Love You" was initially meant to be the 2NE1 member song.
As for her possible new music projects, CL shared an Instagram photo of herself with bold eyeliner along with the caption "+camera message+". So, fans quickly speculated she might be coming back and she was likely encouraged by the recent comeback of another 2NE1 member Park Bom after her long hiatus. Her previous posts in her Instagram account also suggest her possible comeback, which could happen soon.
Meanwhile, Alexander Wang and CL herself uploaded photos on Instagram and Twitter, showing off the 2NE1 member slimmer figure. It can be recalled that her last public left fans in shock and concerned as she appeared to have gained weight. One of her fans shared a photo on SNS which shows the singer is giving an autograph. The picture, however, attracted the attention of many because it looks like CL "gaining even more weight"
