Fruit Basket follows the story of Tohru Honda, a sweet and young orphaned girl who ended up living with some of the members of the mysterious Sohma clan. Eventually, Tohru found out the family has been cursed, and they transformed into zodiac animals whenever they were hugged by someone of the opposite sex. She promised not to tell anyone about the family's secret and decided to help the break the cyclical curse. And along the way, Tohru falls in love with a special someone and discovers the Soma's vengeful zodiac spirits. Her existence changed the lives of the Soma clan forever.

Fruit Basket reboot is directed by Yoshihide Ibata for the TMS Entertainment, while Taku Kishimoto serves as the series writer, and Masaru Shindo is the character designer. Takaya, on the other hand, will supervise the anime series and its main goal is to adapt the manga than to deviate into its original story similar to the anime series 18 years ago.

Meanwhile, the first episode of Fruit Basket didn't reveal the opening theme sequence of the reboot, and it jumps right into the story. But, the premiere reveals the ending theme sequence titled "Lucky Ending" performed by Vickeblanca. So, fans were excited to see the opening theme of the series in the next episode, which will reportedly air in Japan on April 13.
