The second season of On My Block recently arrived on Netflix, dropping all of its 10 episodes on March 29. For those who have finished watching the series, there were a lot of unresolved issues left on the finale. And while it is not yet confirmed if it will come back for another installment, many viewers are sure they'll be getting On My Block season 3.
Netflix has yet to announce if On My Block will be renewed for a third season or not. The streaming giant usually decides within the month of the latest premiere season of a show, so it's very likely the company would make an announcement anytime soon.
It can be recalled On My Block season 1 debuted in March 2018, and then it was renewed for a second season in April of that same year. So, the renewal of the third installment might drop in the coming weeks. Many also believe On My Block season 3 will be given a green light, especially the second season concluded on yet another cliffhanger.
Another thing is that the series has found its footing in season 2 and it gained loyal viewers following its debut. Thus, it's safe to assume there will indeed be a third season. If ever confirmed, the possible air date of On My Block season 3 would be in late March or early April 2020.
Series creators Jeremy Haft, Lauren Iungerich, and Eddie Gonzalez were also hopeful in the future of the show. And as long as the cast members were available, there's no reason they would stop developing new seasons. But right now, fans need to wait for a while until the renewal and release date was confirmed.
As for the plot of On My Block season 3, the second installment ended with a major twist. Monse confronted Jamal, Cesar, and Ruby regarding their friendship and her decision of officially leaving Freeridge, but their dismissive reaction has left her storming off.
While she continues ranting to herself, her friends were seen being kidnapped and thrown in a sketchy van. After that, someone threw a black hood over her head, and she was abducted as well. The major question now is who kidnapped the group and why did they kidnap them?
On My Block season 3 would likely revolve around that mystery, and if the incident has something to do with their connections in taking down the Prophets. This latest event would affect Monse's decision on leaving the area and transfer on the east coast. The rift between the group will also be an issue as the series moves forward, as Ruby, Cesar, Monse, and Jamal were no longer the strong unit like they were before.
